Frequently Asked Questions

Please… before sending us an email with a question read through these below:

Q: What do you accept for payment?

AB: We accept Cashier's Check or Money Order in advance in U.S. dollars, or Paypal® for payment. Shipping destinations from anywhere in the world can order directly off our Order Page. We accept credit card payments only via Paypal®.

Q: What size airfoils do you offer?

AB: Please see the table on our Order Page for more detailed info on which sizes are available.

Q: Would any other sizes be available besides what you list on your Order Page?

AB: We only intend on offering the sizes listed on our Order Page.

Q: Will you be producing any airfoils for use with planes or gliders?

AB: Yes, we are developing new airfoils targeted for gliders and electric planes. Please check back on our site from time to time for updates.

Q: Do you ship all over the world?

AB: Yes. Our airfoils are flying in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, and the U.S.A. The list continues to grow.

Q: What is the leading edge made of on your HardEdge and RotorBlade Airfoils?

AB: There is a basswood strip laminated to the balsa prior to carving the airfoil stock. The basswood becomes an integral part of the airfoil shape.

Q: I checked out your rotor blade page on Jim Baxter's website, autogyro.com. Do I need to apply the carbon fiber tape as he suggests?

AB: While CF strips may be advantageous on large, heavy autogyros, we’ve found it’s not necessary on smaller, lighter gyros such as the PT Gyros and Mickey Nowell’s gyros. If you do decide to apply CF reinforcement for a large autogyro, apply it to the top and bottom for greatest strength.

Q: Where do I get info about Autogyros?

AB: Please check out our Links Page for some really great websites on the subject. Jim Baxter's site is a must-see for anyone interested in radio controlled Autogyros. Another great source for learning and asking questions about Autogyros is the Autogyro forum on R/C Universe and R/C Groups. After clicking on either link, scroll down to the R/C Helicopter heading to find the Autogyros forum.

Speaking of R/C Groups, Mickey Nowell authored a FAQ post that is definitely worth reading. It covers just about all the basic info that any beginner autogyro modeler could ask. Click here for that post.

All three sites have great info on designing and building these autorotating birds.

Q: Where do I get coordinate info about airfoil shapes?

AB: Click here for the UIC airfoil website that lists over 1,500 airfoils.

Q: Do you offer discounts on larger quantities?

AB: Yes. Please send us an email here with the quantity you have in mind and we'll let you know.

If you have any questions not listed here, please send them .
